The Secret

by InuHalfDemon   Oct 4, 2007

A secret lies within my heart,
Both passionate and disturbing.
So much that you can never know.
Can never even hear it.

Within my heart,
I hide the will,
That binds my soul.
And holds a chill
It's truth is never gained,
And yet never lost.
To speak of my desire,
May have a painful cost.

Your eyes can never find,
That which is kept inside.
Your heart can only see,
What burns inside of me.
Yet your heart is blind,
The pulse gone cold.
The pain I must suffer,
You will never know.

Still, I fight to try
To show the reasons why,
I hide within your shadow.
I can never lie.
But you can never know
Of the flames that are aglow,
That burn from your existence
An emotion never told.

I wander silently,
Within my peaceful thoughts.
While you remain in reality.
A skill hardly taught.
In my mind, I find bliss.
While in my heart, it can't exist.
To you, I am nothing more
Than just, another girl.

Couldn't you hear that awful crack?
My heart breaking,
As you turned your back.
In darkness, I am left alone,
To bear the agony,
That you'll never know.

Still, it remains unseen,
The pain you have given me.
Your ignorance is high.
It cuts me like a knife.

Yet, I still can't help
But, to remain by your side.
For you will never know,
The secret that I hide.
