Songbirds Flying High (Double Sedoka)

by Bryan   Oct 4, 2007

Songbirds Flying High

Trees sway in the wind,
Tranquility in the air,
Abyss slowly consuming.

And the rain falls down,
Drowning out this sad sorrow,
the sun sets in this red sky.

Happiness in hate,
Melodies playing these songs,
Little songbirds flying high.

Innocent they sing,
Such beautifully sad tunes,
The moon rises against night.

The Sedoka is an unrhymed poem made up of two three-line katauta with the following syllable counts: 5/7/7, 5/7/7. A Sedoka, pair of katauta as a single poem, may address the same subject from differing perspectives.
