I wish

by Max Krakers   Oct 4, 2007

Every time we meet,
I talk to you.
But then you say,
'I've got better things to do'

You turned around,
So that I could see.
You only went because,
Your friends saw me.

I walked away,
And I walked alone.
Wanted to change myself,
Wanted to be gone.

Or become something,
That your friends can't see.
So I could be with you,
And you could be with me.

And I wish that I,
Could be like a bird.
Or a lingering whisper,
Which nothing can hurt.

To fly up high,
So that I can see.
From a great distance,
Where you can't see me.

Or be like a river,
Flowing under the rock.
Running unknown,
It will never stop.

Or maybe just even,
Be like the air.
And make like the wind,
Just to blow through your hair.

From the corner of your eye,
You'll be able to see.
A strange reflection,
And you'll know that it's me.
