Only a Quiet Whistle

by Hatori   Oct 5, 2007

Broken and shattered,
Like the shards of a dream.

Burnt and tattered,
As the fragments of hope.

Lost but never found,
Like the love I once felt.

Surrounded and bound,
Beyond hope of escape.

Consumed by regret,
With a tear stained face.

Live without a single fret,
Merely a desired fate.

Despair and yearning,
Fill her final painful cry.

Perpetually burning,
Like the fire in her eye.

Bang goes the pistol,
She's lost like a smile so bright.

Only a quiet whistle,
Remains in the moonlight.

Wow...you're really trying to tear me up here, aren't ya? lol. again, this is beautifully and elegantly written. a beautiful powerful opening with each stanza thereafter just getting better and better. imagery painted once again created very vivid pictures for me. that ending...awesome. such intensity that it hits the reader like a slap in the face. i can clearly see you have talent...beautifully written.
