Trapped Inside

by Keith   Oct 5, 2007

Teetering on the edge of my seat
Bombarded by the drones of lecturing
Sunlight creeping through the blinds
Inviting me
Mind wondering
Body remaining

Desperate to get out
Determined to get home
Agitated by the heat and dullness
Of another lesson

Waiting for the bell to ring
To start a breakout
To be free
To be out there
For the air of the evening sun to blow through my hair
As I laugh and lust with my friends and others
As I run down the flanks
With the ball at my feet
To unleash the energy
In one single strike.
To live, to enjoy, to celebrate

Clock ticks and jolts forward
Finally!
The bell rings
The sun burns my eyes
Its heat kisses my forehead
I'm free!
