Unknown Truths

by x Mo x   Oct 6, 2007

I looked into your eyes.
And felt the world burn.
I'd be the only one left,
It was finally my turn.
I gazed on deeply,
Wondering what I could learn.

I wanted so badly
To make you mine.
Hearing your voice
Drown out time,
My heart soared away
To where only the sun can shine.

I wish I didn't ask
To know all about you.
Now I look into your eyes,
And just imagine all you do.
The lies you told
Turn my sky a dull blue.

Brought back to Earth
From my glorious dream,
I thought I had you figured out,
But there's more than would seem.
Your once perfect soul
No longer gleams.

My heart no longer beats
To the rhythm of yours.
Yet it still stutters
When you walk through that door.
I won't ever tell you,
But I can't have you anymore.

All the unknown truths
That stand naked in sight,
Haunt my soul, my life,
And destroy my night.
My heart aches for you,
But I need to do what is right.
