My idol

by traceybilsbarrow   Oct 6, 2007

When i was growing up,
4 brothers i did have,
my oldest one,his name was paul,
i idolised him like mad.
to me he could solve everything
no problem big or small
to me he made me feel as if,
i was 6ft tall.
so good lookin,& popular,
to everyone he knew,
when he went to prison
i didnt know what to do,
i always wrote him letters,
i always missed him lots,
you see he looked after all of us,
his heart had so much space
when he wasnt at home
no one could fill his place.

then one day he began to change
his confidence began to fade,
he wouldnt leave the house ,
this went on for days.
you see he had a illness,
at the time we didnt know
but as time passed we noticed,
then it began to show.
he had to get took to hospital,
this was against his will
so sad it was on the day,
my eyes began to fill.
but he needed to get treatment
he needed to get well
parinoid schizophrenic
they began to tell
16 years later,
on medication for all his life,
but now he gos out & about
the illness changed him so much,
he dosent care about his looks,
where before he groomed himself,
where before he cared
the illness made him lose this part
it can never be repaired
his heart well thats still their
& his love is too,
when anybody says to much
i remind them of before,
the way he was before this,
i say hes still our paul.
he made such a big impression,
on me, when i was small
he talk the time to talk to me,
he treated me with respect,
not how brothers normally do,
not how you expect,
i know how my brother was,
i know inside hes good
and this is how i'll tell it,
tell it how it should
