Secrets; Birthed, Raped, Killed, and Forever...

by Cooper   Oct 6, 2007

"There's nothing wrong with me, there's nothing wrong with you...but there's something wrong with me, and there's something wrong with everyone."

I raped the child Jesus, as he lay in bed,
as his fingers kissed the blankets of hopelessness.
I made stars cry, as my heart has bled,
letting the ashes of galaxies slip from my grasp...

I masturbated, to the touch of time
and crawled through Eden,
dragging antique memories and dripping them on thorns,
the serpents made of gold would later sip from
as if they were the Earth's breasts.

There's a man on his knees,
his tongue painting a portrait of mountains on the sky,
tattered with beautiful imperfections eclipsed by clouds;
he's forgotten what names are,
and leaves artistic marks on women he almost slept with...
violent tattoos sculpted on skin that melted away like sunrise on a rainy day.
SICKENING. Do they say.

She puked upon, a mirror that didn't tell her she was the fairest,
faint and eroded by tears.
She bled upon her Mother, as her mouth rippled like ponds molested by stones.
They fall from cocoons,
from which butterflies would erupt in the thousands.
I'm smiling at which reminds of an experiment never perfected;
I tried to be a butterfly, but only died the next day...

Now bathed in an insect waterfall,
butterflies turned moths eating at my skin, preferring it was cloth,
but I've tasted myself;
cannibal sucking on the lost.
HOPELESS. Do us say.

I danced alone, on the vertices of moons,
stepping on the feet of corpses sticking out of the dirt.
And I hung exquisitely, from the veins of angels;
God is a monster and Heaven's the closet;
Peek-a-boo is a game that makes me cry...
my face another secret to hide.

    Wow... I' completely breathless... This piece is mind- blowing, so powerful and filled with excellent metaphors and secret meanings. The imagery in it is twisted, but so unique and effective. I like this poem from the beginning to the end, it's brilliant and totally amazing. I can't pick my favorite part, each stanza is equally great.
