Heart slowing once more to a steady pace
Even as teardrops splatter page after page
This ink and paper have become my salvation
Releasing all of the hurt, misery and rage

Loved that stanza...specially the third line.

    My favorite stanzas were:

"Heart slowing once more to a steady pace
Even as teardrops splatter page after page
This ink and paper have become my salvation
Releasing all of the hurt, misery and rage

Sometimes feeling so out of my depth
Like there's nothing left, nothing to gain
So I'll place pen and paper in my hand
And let the pen release all of the pain"

a lot of people on this site can relate to what your saying, most of us use poetry as a escape just like you've said in your poem.
Alot of people love this poem not just because its fabulous, which it is, but also because they can relate. Me included.

    xoxo

Again another great poem with great connotations of self harm etc.... You used metaphors to help portray this idea of anger like pain on paper. Another great write xxx alex xxx

So I'll listen silently to soothing music
Placing a pen and paper in my hand
Countless words filling line after line
Knowing one day, people will understand

this stanza sounds so much like how i feel.
loved this poem, your so talented. keep up the totally awesome work

I understand your views very well I have been there and do it quite often. I think know one knows what is truly me until they read what I have suffered on paper for so long good job in showing the struggle Plot121

To afraid to ask for someone's help

    should be too, not to

So I'll place pen and paper in my hand
And let the pen release all of the pain

Awesome. A flawless poem. I'll vote for it in this week's contest.

This poem is nice. The poetry can be an escape for anger and bad feelings. Although the good structure, the rhymes in some of the places didn't match. You used the same couple gain-pain in the first and last stanza and that kind of ruined it a bit. Besides that, the choosing of words is nice. Overall 5/5

I love poems about writing....how the poet feels when writing and how the act of writing makes them feel....this is a nice glimpse into what you are feeling.....

"Sometimes feeling so out of my depth
Like there's nothing left, nothing to gain
So I'll place pen and paper in my hand
And let the pen release all of the pain "

^sometimes I think those of us who write are all tortured souls in some aspect....love the ending verse...the flow...content, message, and feeling put into this one....Well done! Take care, Debbie

Again a WONDERFUL poem. i cna relate to this one quite esily as well...it seems to me that alot of people use poetry as an outlit...yet few are truly great at it in my book...not that it matters but you are one of those few. please keep up the great work
