You Are No Longer My Mentor

by ShadowedPhoenix   Oct 9, 2007

Upon the shelve of a once loving house
Is the picture many choose not to doubt.
The smiles and the laughter ridiculed,
By one immature and provocative move.

Time took what the picture portrayed
And smashed the glass of the once beautiful face.
Ripped apart and torn to shreds,
Pieces of the picture glued together again.

No one wiser to the damage it has dealt,
Or the pain it emitted,
All of us believe in ignorance to hide behind,
Because truthfully there is not much left to ignore.

And no longer do I respect you,
Or the person you once were,
No longer are you my mentor
Or the perfect person I wish I was.

All your apologises and guilt ridden rants
Will not change what you have done,
Or how you wish to hide behind lies to get away
We have found you and now we know what you truly are.

You swore to love us and want only the best
And were so proud of who we were.
We looked up to you and hold you in glass.
Now broken along with your admiral past.

You never loved us if you have done what you have,
Stop preaching and let go of my hand,
You are not the man I respect anymore,
You half of the man I always thought you were.

If you wish to protect me
I would rather die at the hands of a fiend
Than have to thanks you
For letting me breathe.

You have only yourself to blame,
I respect you no longer.
Deal with the shame!
