Maverick, The Motherless God

by RainbowSlider   Oct 10, 2007

Once while walking through the land of Nod
I was to meet Maverick, the motherless god.
Didn't know he was a god the first time though.
First time he was just a kid in the back meadow.
He used to have a mother and I did meet her.
I had just never put one and one together.
Strange that she had this god for a son.
Thought surely she would of told someone.
Oh, gods of insight that take me unaware.
How a web can weave with no one there.
Cobweb so invisible with gossamer strands.
Opening up my eyes so more I understand.

Cute and simple, but with a pleasant dialect. I enjoy the refences of the gods. It creates the image of inequality and social groups. (whether that was intentional or not).
