The Missing Piece to My Dreams

The Missing Piece to My Dreams
by Kristi H.

I feel out of place,
With my tear stained face.
I can't fight the cries,
That commence inside.

My heart starts to pound,
Where no air can be found.
Since that one simple girl,
Stole my entire world.

My mind cannot chase,
The problems I face.
And, like all my tears,
They give in to my fears.

I must go to sleep,
While I quietly weep.
Then I hope the next day,
Will fly far away.

I don't want to be cursed,
From this new universe.
I just want to dream,
About passions that gleam.

But I must stay awake,
To face this new day.
Despite tired eyes,
And my sullen cries.

As the days grow old,
I want to hold,
On to your touch,
That I dream of so much.

For I know, in the truth,
That, without you,
My dreams would mean nothing.
For without love, they're crumbling.

So, I wake up and smile.
No more need to cry.
The pain that I faced,
Has been driven away.
