A Boy and His Guitar

by Beautiful Chaos   Oct 10, 2007

The strings sing such sweet melody,
His words, they scream of pain,
There's nothing in this mortal realm,
Save love, to keep him sane.

Love has not been friendly,
His heart, it soldiers on,
Pouring out of his guitar,
Rising like the dawn.

He has a hope he won't let go,
Sure someday he'll find,
The one he saw within his dreams,
Trapped inside his mind.

The world it is a cold, cruel place,
So easily we stray,
But he's on a path he will not leave,
Until love comes to stay.

He'll walk the road and sing his songs,
Guitar his only friend,
Praying that his time will come,
A dreamer to the end.

I enjoyed this poem a lot, especially the analogies between life and the boy's guitar. Although at times I couldn't tell if love was the ally or the enemy, it was a very intelligent, eloquent poem. Good work! 5/5

This is a painful and a hopeful poem. i love how you used music and instrument as a material in this poem, on how it reveals the ambiance of a hopeless man and the vivd emotions in here. keep it up!
