Weave Me A Soul

by JoeyCyanide   Oct 10, 2007

As you take my life in your fingers
Tear into tiny strips
Clean the blood from the edges
Watch as the crimson drips
Like a faded photo, slash me
And jumble me around
Lay the ribbons of my being
Gently on the ground

Take the tiny fragments
And under, over go
Weave the shattered remnants
The ribbons dancing slow
The broken pieces tighten
And knit into a web
The seeping bleeding edges
See the flow begin to ebb

As the lacy net of broken pieces
Draws together near
From the ragged ruins
The beautiful appears
From the broken mundane life of mine
Your weaving me a soul
And adding pieces of yourself
To make my being whole

Weave my tears into the fabric
See them shine and glitter bright
See the silver threads of moonlight
From when I lay awake at night
And let the blood soak through the colors
Different shades of pain
From when my love for you
Killed me again and again

And before you finish
Take a strand of you hair
Embroider the fabric
That you forever linger there
Tie a knot at the corner
Now my soul is entire
You have captured my torment,
My fear and my desire

You have given me a soul
And given me a heart
And oblivious of it all
My life’s begun to start
