Absent

by John Long   Oct 10, 2007

Tourists will chatter and scatter among the Lakeland Hills
Even though I'm here and not there.

The evening tide will visit the beach at Ravenglass
Even though I'm here and not there.

The Saturday market at Penrith will hustle and bustle
Even though I'm here and not there

And try as I might, even when I'm not there
I'm not always here.

You have captured that moment of when our thoughts are always with someone else. What a remarkable poem. The whole essence of it's entirety is fantastic. Great to see you writing again, I have missed reading your work.
