Together Again

by lisa marie   Oct 10, 2007

We were one soul in two bodies
Nobody could understand
The way that we loved
We would sit around the setting sun
Only wishing that somebody
Anybody would throw happiness in our faces
We waited.
And waited
Until the sun rose
Her eyes were getting heavy
My eyes were completely closed
All of the sudden we fell asleep
I awoke more lonely than before
And I realized I was missing something
Something more than laughter and contentment
I was missing me
And I canot find her anymore
And so
Some days I sit alone waiting
for the setting sun to rise
Hoping that Maybe,
we will be together again

I liked this. It made me go through all of the emotions; love, happiness, loneliness.. It also brought back past experiences with old friends. It's never easy losing a friend. Friends and family are what we possibly cherish most out of anything on this earth, and it's completely devastating when one is lost, especially when that person is your 'other half'. You will be together again. I'm almost sure of it.

This the kind of poem that has the depth that draws me in and captures me even though I am also many times uncertain of who that is
