Hallucination and Imagination

by DeathComesEz   Oct 10, 2007

Lies, that is all it was
A broken promise,
Never to be fulfilled.

A child's hope
Smashed and tattered
Hatred refilled,
Never to commit.

My eyes watched the can,
Glued to her hand
No compromise.

Standing in the kitchen,
The knife grasped
Hidden from sight,
She turned never giving
Another thought.

Anger and rage
Boiled my blood
Daring to explode
Barely hanging by
A single strand of rope.

The job was almost finished,
Soon to be complete
The end so near
Now was the chance,
Just a little wicked treat.

My steps crept
Close - silent
A violent strike was
All it took!

Now hatred filled eyes
Scanned the body
Face down on the ground
A knife carefully lodged
In the middle of their back.

Blood poured from
The newly formed wound
They laid in a drowning,
Pool of blood -
Their body slowly dieing
I had no form of resentment.

My body tingled - shook
And in that instant, I blinked
Watched as she drunkenly
Staggered around --
The kitchen corner, out of sight.

It was all but my imagination
A hallucination in itself,
An internal fight --
My own spin of reality, morbid.
