Tuesdays

Only the stars above know how I love thee
But none can perceive the depth,
I not even I can say for sure
The measure of love I have felt.
That first day I met you
I was captivated by something beyond prose,
An understanding I have yet to discover
Why in that moment my heart froze.

Beating only when I am near you
Something I am fighting to break,
Afraid of what could happen
If I this chance I should take.
But now I live for Tuesdays
Wednesdays on occasion sustain,
For you are the vivid bright in this darkness
Softly calling out my name.
