The Devil's Hunger

by x Mo x   Oct 11, 2007

Poisonous flames burn the world.
Never shall a banner again unfurl.
Mortal life will be destroyed.
Love and happiness left unenjoyed.
Mercy left unawarded.
The talented shall never again be rewarded.
Deadly gasses fill the lungs with each breath.
Bringing to pass slow, painful death.
Destroying angels reign down
Leaving alive not one small town.
Gentle tears drown life's hope.
Falling to hell on an endless slope.
Burnt and broken, Earth lies dead.
The Devil's hunger has been fed.

I absolutely loved the vocabulary you've used in this poem, such descriptive language. The best thing about these kind of poems is you get an insight into a persons dark side mixed with their twisted imaginations, and I mean this in a completely and utterly good way:)
    Enjoyed reading this one.
