One, Two, Three & Four

by Olivia   Oct 12, 2007

Summer disappears before our eyes
As does the sunlight
So close to gone, it is,
That I can hear winters cries

A crack in my window screen
Reveals a bright orange flow
Where fallen leaves are seen
Reminding me its fall

Freshly mowed lawns
Tire swings and trees
As the dew hits dawn
And children escape to play

Swirls of grey
Flakes gently gather
And the Angels pray
As the ground grows white

Waves rush on
As though the seasons
Hadn't changed so fast
Softly, they rush on

You and I lived through
One
Two
Three
And Four
You and I lived

We frolicked through summer sun
And crouched in the leaves of fall
We plowed through that snowy winter
And we planted dreams in spring

You and I,
Do you remember it now?
You and I,
I will never forget how

That graveyard we ran through
Holding on so tight
To each others warmth
As though the dead could bite

I lie there now
No tombstone, no flowers
To cover this face
Just season showers

Drenched and cold
I am buried alive
Tired and old
I'll never forget

You brought me the sun
And watched me shine
You caught the drizzle
And called it mine

Lovers in spring,
Lovers in fall
Turn now toward this grave
And watch me crawl
