Afraid of Days Coming Closer

by Avrii Monrielle   Oct 12, 2007

I'm counting the days
That pass me by;
Lying awake,
In my bed at night.

I'm falling asleep,
But I want to wake up.
My memories creep,
Like plants from the dust.

I just can't believe,
I'm leaving them all.
I'm going to leave,
After next fall.

They're going to cry,
And say they will miss me.
But I'll have to smile,
And pretend it's all history.

When my feet hit the steps,
Of that rigid plane's stairs,
I'll take what is left,
And pretend I don't care.

Then I won't see you,
For so many years.
The things that stay true,
Will be my wet tears.

I dread these new days,
For they're one step closer,
Till I move away,
And lose friends like no other.
