Out of the Darkness

The darkness was there for a very long while,
I was not aware of this hole in my life.
Not until the day I first saw her smile,
was I so aware of the darkness and strife.

The silence was there but not by my choice
all the things I had not heard in years.
Not until the sound of her angelic voice,
Was I so quickly aware and brought to tears.

The very bleak blackness I could not deny,
so unaware of how shallow my existence.
Not until seeing the bright sparkle of her eye,
was my heart opened with such persistence.

The new found brightness she has brought,
no more silence in my life no more fears.
A new and wonderful dream I have caught,
that she will be there to catch my tears.
