Desire

For Kez.

Her I want; will never hold.
Yet the one I can't resolve.
Brain informed but won't be told.
Pain ignored. Heart changed to cold.

Brave before. My play made so bold.
I'm afraid some more. The crazed way's foretold.
Staved my thoughts. Myself made to scold.
Plagued by thoughts; of feelings shown so bold.

Difference in age; some nine years and more!
Opinions change, my heart stays so sure.
It's turning into such a feeling so sore.
Can't go on, no matter what's before.

My hearts wide open; for the loss it weeps.
Some hearts are broken. Yet hers she keeps.
It won't be spoken and to her the least.
Promises broken just to keep the peace.

It'd hurt me to see her, but see her I should.
Wouldn't want to be there, yet for her I would.
She could be the one; the one I keep for good.
I was worrying on about what I should've withstood.

My chance was gone, before the chance had come.
When I glance beyond, to her I want to run.
While I'm around her, the minutes fade to one.
All is a blur, soon as her smile turns on.

Try her I must, because my souls on fire.
In that fire I trust, before I walk the wire.
She and I should be us; to fill my hearts desire.
Yet desire is lust, and the lust's a liar.
