This Cancer Won't Take Your Life

by Jenna   Oct 12, 2007

Hadn't heard from you in awhile,
It was nice to see you had called.
You always have some fun stories to share.
You're like a mother to me,
You've always been there,
Helped me through the hard times I've had.
I never expected what you were about to tell me.
I call you back,
I can tell somethings terribly wrong.
At first I wondered if my dog had died.
You start to cry hard,
As you sputter out your words,
I have cancer Jenna, in two places, I'm so scared.'
My jaw drops,
I just can't believe it.
The tears start to roll down my cheeks
I pray to God, He'll help you get through this.
You say your going away for awhile,
Don't know when you'll be back.
You have to start treatment you say,
Then you start to ball again ask you ask,
"Jenna what color wig should I get?"
You kinda start to laugh,
And I tell you, you'll be alright.
You've always been there for me,
Now its my turn, I'll help you get through this,
This cancer won't take your life.

.....I actually started getting teary eyed reading this.. I know how you feel because I've been there before.. The only thing you can do is stay strong for this person.. You'd be suprised how much that can help. Hang in there hun and keep up the great writing. 5/5 -John
