A Lost Friendship

I walk silently
You snicker behind me
I try to ignore it
And you continue loudly

We talked once before
I guess long ago
I thought it was a year
Give or take a month or so

We were such great friends
Always side-by-side
Then something happened
Now you've riden every ride

You've experienced a lot
Done much of what there is to do
I'm disappointed though
I've not changed much, but my have you

In all honesty
You've begun to conform
You used to hate conformity
Will you ever reform?

Is this situation permanent?
Because if it is I'm gone
I've been through enough
If more is coming, then I'm done

We've been through hard times
Together and alone
But you're heading for more pain
Unless you stop doing wrong
