You're Not Here

by Richard S   Oct 13, 2007

An empty room is loud with your absence.
Shadows remind of how colourful you are.
Happy songs play sad melodies.
There is a hole in my universe.

You value your time and you value your space.
So, it seems, do I.
But "time" and "space" aren't the same anymore.
There is a hole in my universe.

Mirrors reflect your face in mine.
And a hand is felt in my empty palm.
Could it be the same for you?
There is a hole in my universe.

Time and space are relative,
But "time" stands still without you here.
And "space" is vast in your absence, dear.
There is a hole in my universe.

Life is merely white noise when you're not here.
A busy background to purposelessness.
A smile can focus the cosmos.
There is a hole in my universe.

Your presence makes the small significant.
I recall the scent of your voice.
I remember the sound of your breath.
And there is a whole to my universe.
