Apathy

by Kayla Brown   Oct 13, 2007

O seductive apathy,
I bear no hatred towards thee
Empty my soul of wasteful things
Cheer and grief, now my silence rings
Close tight my lips, make not a sound
Till sewn safely in the ground
No longer do I don that crown
Nor the scepter, nor the gown
I know no love, I know no strife
Fear not voices, nor the knife
Sweet words that sting will words remain
The sharpened blade no more my bane
Protect my name, I trust of thee
O seductive apathy

This poem had kinda a touch to it that made it sound like it was from the 19th century! I loved it anyways!
