Black Ember (with C. Pederson)

by Kayla Brown   Oct 13, 2007

Like a black star falling in the day
distant memories in full sway
Drowning out the sights and sounds inside
Replaced with new laws to abide
Only to find that the light in your eyes have lied
Like fabricated warmth, a faulty guide
Guided like a sheep to slaughter
The flames of hell grow only hotter
The only signal being from your devil's kiss
Deaf to screams of souls amiss
But yet' It is here where I find the most bliss
Where the serpent of Eden uttered his hiss
Oh why must I be a lover of the lier
To which the dark ember flames in your eyes glow even hotter
So while my soul descends yours continues to go even higher
My lover, a demon, a liar!
Oh how I wish to feel your warm embrace once more
Though an illusion, one to make my blood roar
Hot are the tips of your fingers while your lips so cold
A seductive gaze into mine with a light so bold
My heart must be insane to love you so
Insane, and with pain to forgo
Forgo this tortured love like an addict to a drug
A delightful weight impossible to shrug
I do not blame you though for being the one you are
Born with the cunning and illusion of a star
My Burning black ember... I won't ever forget you
The sweetest venom has traced my veins through.
And know that for all time that I love you' Know this is true
