Still Here

by Cheyanne   Oct 14, 2007

I know you seem to think
that I'm never really there,
And the thought of me moving
makes your heart tear,

You probably blame yourself
for the reason I'm going away,
But if anything your the reason
My heart feels compelled to stay,

But like a new grown butterfly
i have to spread my wings and go,
Just like a caterpillar has to
leave it's ca coon to grow,

With me I'll take the memories
and the meaningful times we shared,
But this is not goodbye
so no need to be scared,

The phones always at reach
if you ever want to talk,
And your doors always open
when i feel the need to knock,

And no matter where i am
no matter what life takes me through,
I'll always be your daughter
and ill always love you....

I absolutely love this poem. It expresses the desire to grow and the conflict to want to stay, and the pain that everyone involved can feel. I know how it feels.

I can relate to this so much right now! My dad is kicking off about me moving it out and making it so much harder for me.
This poem is beautiful and really shows the reality...
