Make believe life

by Lost & Delirious   Oct 14, 2007

I envy those who open their heart to the world,
And bravely walk in their naked self.
Their pain and anger beautifully expressed,
In art strongly reaching an understanding soul.

As my senses curiously travel through all arts,
My repressed dreams fill me up with shame.
Walking with confidence, knowing I'm the coward,
Wanting to be the artist they're all being.

If only I could admit I'm as human as I am.
I love and I feel all the pain love can bring,
And the love I feel for this which I call mine
Is something beyond my make believe life

For I cannot be without being this.
And I cannot bear being tied up by fears,
Mortified by the "never being" thought
I hide my weak humanity from all eyes.

  • This was a good poem, but it seems kind of confusing. I just can't put my finger on what's wrong with it, but there is. It's still a good poem though.
