Tall tales of feeble minds falling in love forever,
with happy endings and moonlit walks galore.
Promises are kept and minds never change -
it's what we call a fairy tale; they always end the same,
With smiles, laughs, and joyful smirks rubbing it all in. . .
knowing we can't find it all, even if we tried and tried again.
We're stuck here with only fantasies to keep alive our dreams.
The dreams we hold of love and faith, along with happy endings.
And, we still can't figure out what it takes to love; we're lost.
We're lost in this world of hatred, wars, and bloody battles
ruining our lives. . . they're the reason we're left unloved. . .
Lending excuses to the broken hearted and killing those who aren't.
You can see it in the eyes glistening within this darkened night,
a bit of fear with overwhelming joy; we know it's going to end too soon.
And, with widened smiles and joyful laughs I can say this proudly -
" I won`t see you tonight, it's a promise kept forever.
For, reality is soaring in, with thoughts entering the depths
(And, shall I mention. . . )
Depths are not but a reflection of reality, breaking up our fantasies."
This is amazingly deep and true.
