A Lesson From VT

by Alton   Oct 15, 2007

How far does someone have to be pushed to kill?
To be at a point where you cannot feel
Anything but the hate you have inside.
How bad is it when you have no value for life?
To be alone and without a light,
is hell.
The days seem long and pointless
Your phone is quiet because you're friendless
Except the one that only you can see.
But many ask how hard can it be?
For those of you who haven't been down that path
You will have a hard time understanding the wrath
the pain.
Sometimes the world seems so cruel
It seems death is the answer, a gun the tool.
But to take the lives of others requires something more,
Either pure emotionless hate
Or the complete disregard for anything humane.
People are fragile creatures
Our balance can be disrupted easily
So treat everyone with respect
See the value of human life
Put down the knife,
Put down the gun,
and talk.
Prevent further loss.
And If nobody wants to listen,
Try the man on the cross.
He loves you more than you know,
and he's worth living for.
