You made me believe I was the one that you loved, the one you wanted to share your forever with.
And even though deep down I new this could only end in tragedy...I never wanted to let go..
So I just believed the lie, believed that someday we could be, if I just kept holding on, one day you'd see it too.
You'd believe that we were true, believe our love could be, well I guess forever just wasn't meant to be....
I never wanted to give away my heart...but as we walked along the street, magic everywhere, Your arm around my waist, my hand clutched onto yours as if you'd disappear the moment I let go...oh if only I new how true it was.
Now I know that magic isn't real...and I know its not your fault, I was the one who wanted something so far out of reach, but that can't heal the damage that was done..
When I looked into your eyes, held on for dear life, oh if only you would stay, I keep pretending that your mine and the tears keep poring down, it hurts so bad to be without you...but I gotta let you go, you love another...
Just like a little child I keep dreaming of the day you run to me, swoop me in your arms and whisper that your here to stay. Guess I should wake up now, stop living in a hopeless fairytale, stop holding onto something that I never had.
