Her Heart Was But Only Fray

by Marissa   Oct 16, 2007

Flickering lights on a lonesome bay
The night sky turning from Grey to black
Her heart was but only fray

Bits and pieces of stray hay
Her world was all but in her sack
Flickering lights on a lonesome bay

She felt so astray
In that beat up old shack
Her heart was but only fray

She would move on someday
Maybe someday she would be back
Flickering lights on a lonesome bay

For now she would love that sea spray
And the lonesome window that had a crack
Her heart was but only fray

Finally it was the ending of yet another day
With the firewood in a stack
Flickering lights on a lonesome bay
Her heart was but only fray
