Reality or fiction?

by gack60   Oct 16, 2007

Why is life real and who made it so?
How do we know it's not all just for show?

We see with our eyes what our hearts can only feel,
So why do we question what we know to be real?

If what happens in life continues through death,
Then why are we afraid to lose our last breath.

Why have emotions such as love and hate?
To unite the world? Or so wars are just fate.

Some people say that the world is a stage,
Although I feel more like a pet in it's cage.

I'm to do what I'm told and not give it a thought,
But my hopes and dreams they cannot be bought.

From my cage I broke free and returned to the wild
Only there do u realize u have to think like a child.

You see a child will always question where, how and why?
But an adult just accepts that a bird can fly.

So why do children question what us adults don't?
Is it that Adults can't or maybe they just won't?

The one thing were all sure of is that ignorance is bliss,
As what you never had you can never really miss.

I suppose what I'm getting at is to always question reality,
Maybe then we'll find the answer to immortality.
