The Webs We Weave

by hippiehxc   Oct 16, 2007

-Not my best.-

These pieces of broken glass lay spread across her windowsill. Dust is all she sees. The floor is dirtied by the mishaps of the past. Someone cut a little too deep.

A small gleam of sunlight shines through the window. Her bare feet kiss the floor ever so gently. Spiders are hard at work in the grayed corners. Oh, what beautiful webs they weave.

She's contemplating on what happened that night. The words that were said. They took her by surprise. She's spent all night replaying them in her head.

It was a love hate relationship. Nothing new there. She loved, he hated. She didn't have anything better to compare.

This self inflicted misery is catching up. It's spreading like cancer. She has one question. But you don't have an answer.

She'll wait for you to call. She'll subject herself to this nightmare. You promised her so many times, but you never cared.

These verses are getting short. This is just a hard step to take. No one knows why you tried to save her. But everyone can see that you were too late.

She's watching over her body. Not a sound escapes her lips. When you said goodbye, you killed her, with just a touch of your fingertips.

She never really left. Forever in the dark she will loom. You don't want to admit it, but you know she'll see you soon.
