Lament of my Soul

by Marius Laun   Oct 16, 2007

My soul cries out
In deepening pain.
It wants to escape me,
It burns like a flame.

My eyes hold the key
To my troubled soul.
The anguish and torment,
Will not let me go.

I pray and I pray
With no end in sight,
I'm tired and filled
with dread and fright.

I find myself reading
all the "Good Books"
I've not found an answer
My soul has been shook.

I need some help,
I feel the end.
Not councilors or mentors,
Not even a friend.

Can offer the help
I sorely need now.
I need some advice
A why and a how.

I feel my soul
slipping away,
I know this pain
Has come to stay.

These lines hit me the most! The poem overall spoke with a special message and plenty of power behind it. 5/5
