The love game

by browneyezz   Oct 16, 2007

The love game is a game where hearts are broken,
and worn around as priceless tokens.

Ripped apart and sewn together,
we pick up the pieces hoping it will get better.

The game is a gamble, with nothing to lose
nothing to gain,
but everything to prove.

An act of kindness that isn't real,
A fake distinct sweet appeal.

To him your just a toy,
Your not special to that boy.

He'll sweep you off your feet,
tell you u look cute and you smell sweet.

He'll look into your eyes full of despair,
And tell you that he loves you and he'll always be there.

But little do you know he's stolen your heart,
And sooner or later he'll tear it apart.

He'll mess with your mind and catch you off guard.
then when he leaves what's left is a scar.

I liked this piece quite a bit. I think some parts didn't fit in like your fourth stanza, but it had a VERY strong beginning, and a slightly less strong ending, so overall, it was pretty good! I appreciate all your comments. Feel free to share your favorite parts, or parts you think I could work on in my poetry as well! Always helps!
