A Broken Smile

by Fran   Oct 17, 2007

You broke my smile so
I took it into town to get repaired.
The man at the store did such
A good job I felt like a woman again.
All my friends said it suited me.

But the repair was only superficial
And soon fell apart again.
Only your love can keep me whole,
Forgive me my darling,
I love you so much.

Beautiful and sad. There's a subtle - yet not so subtle ache to your poems
