The beautiful game

by gack60   Oct 17, 2007

The whistle has blown, the ball has been kicked,
I arrived late what team has he picked.

Its down the left wing and heading for goal,
Pass it you idiot, before it is stole.

Its crossed in by Giggs, will it reach someones head,
No it reached the foot of a defender instead.

30 minutes has past, will there be a goal soon,
Even Andy Gray says its a long afternoon.

The balls back in play, its long down the pitch,
Its Ronaldo, its Rooney, its a beautiful switch

No sooner had i said it, than Rooney he did score,
Its only one nil but the crowd yell for more.

The whistle for half time was heard by the crowd,
The fans are ecstatic, they're doing us proud.

The second half begins with tension and pace,
I wonder who will win the premiership race?

Two nil was here, it came very quick,
It was courtesy of a Ronaldo overhead kick.

Suddenly i had chills running down my spine,
Rio has just made a clearance off the line

The whistle has gone the game it was done.
I think the title has already been won.

    Great job with this piece. Very original, I don't think I've read anything on this sight about a sport. The rhyme and flow were wonderful. 5/5

    Sweet!
    United Road, take me home
    To the place, I belong;
    To Old Trafford, to see United;
    Take me home, United road

    Get in! Nice work bro, I honestly don't believe I haven't had this idea already. Great idea, i think you have inspired me to give a United poem a bash.

    Simply 'cause it a red poem ..
