The Seven Leaf Clover Part V11: The Epic Duel

The night is silent
The moon is shining
There’s an injured still body on the ground
And a small little mammal laughing

The squirrel was laughing a horrible cackle
It was looking at the body, throwing gravel
But just as the squirrel thought it achieved victory,
There was faint light hovering over the trees

The squirrel was curious,
So it approached the light with caution
The light was growing ever so brighter
“Ha-ha!” cackled the squirrel, “It’s just a little faerie!”
“Not just a faerie,” it replied, “I’m also a fighter.”

The faerie hovered down to ground level
And raised a fist to the squirrel,
“Bring it on, Bertral,
Bring me down like you did the human”

“I would, Welch” The squirrel mumbled
“But that was my last shot,”
“Well, that’s too bad,” said Welch
“Guess you’ll have to fight fair,”
And as he said that, he tied up his hair

Quick as a flash, Bertral jumped at him
But Welch was too quick, and dodged him
The squirrel punched Welch’s stomach
But Welch quickly recovered, and punched his opponent right back
The squirrel stumbled, and then yelled “You’ll have to do better then that!”

Suddenly, out of thin air,
Vines started entangling Bertral
And locked him in place,
Then Welch approached him, and said
“I don’t want to kill you, I prefer to fight fair,
But if I have to, I’ll use these to have you ensnared”
Bertral just stared at him, without moving
When he nodded his head stiffly
Immediately the vines vanished once again
And then Bertral raised his hand,
And put it up to his neck
“You’ll regret that, Welch,
I’ll get you back.”
“You probably will,” said Welch
“But not by being fair.”
Bertral jumped at him, reaching for Welch’s head
When Welch took out a pistol, and yelled
“EAT LEAD!”

I heard gunfire,
And opened my eyes
When I saw the faerie
That’s already once saved my life
He took out some sparkly dust,
And put it over my wound,
Then said “If you ever need help,
Don’t be afraid to shout.”
