Definition of Life

by Wasted Fake Smiles   Oct 18, 2007

To live and love. To gain and lose.
I dare you to walk a mile in my shoes.
To cry and laugh. To smile and frown.
Pick you're broken heart off the ground.

Smiles will fade, the sun will set,
Life is just one big regret.
Love dies, the flames go out,
Smiles are replaced with only a pout.

Backstabbers and liars and cheaters too,
I have friends, but only a selected few.
Rain will fall. Clouds fill the sky.
Live your life wondering "why?"

Time will pass. Days turn to night.
Darkness comes. There is no light.
People leave. Hearts will break,
So many people out there are fake.

Friends' betrayal. Lovers cheat.
You walk along the rocky road in bare feet.
Your body goes numb. There is no love,
Pray for love to up above.

(or pray for the end)

You're- your- in the first stanza

Good poem, there is a lot of greatly expressed emotions. It has some very depressive truths about reality. I can agree with the message that you portrayed here in a way.
Effective piece, it really made me think.
    Keep up!
    5/5 from me
