Legends to Live By

by Memory   Oct 19, 2007

Stuck in a story,
a legend never truth.
Though I've tried reality,
it was never any use.
My head is desperate for imagination,
my heart won't stray.
I'm alive in made-up lands,
where I want to stay.
A hero rises to save,
an evil overcomes.
I'm dying in my reality,
the damage has been done.
The things of fairytales,
to me are so real.
I'm too far involved,
to let go of how I feel.
Tell me to grow-up,
but I have already done so.
In my world of imagination,
with my eyes closed.

I love this and feel I can relate to it. I live in my own fantasy world that I can't let go of. I don't want to let go of it. And, if anyone has a place in their mind that makes them happy, they should never let go :)

Very well written, a new personal favorite.
