CAPTIVE

by the poet formerly known as chuck   Oct 19, 2007

Summer follows a winters spring
step fourth from the shadows
and into the blinding light we see
draped in a mist of hate and despair
onward we stumble to wards a failing hope
that someday we might be freed
with heads hung low and arms bound
we march on with pride
knowing that this is all but done
