Master of My Dreams

by Brittney Follett   Oct 19, 2007

In my mind, in my thoughts,
They haunt me everywhere.
No matter how far I try to go,
They happen to be there.

Behind all my flashy smiles,
I put on this silly charade.
The real me cries behind
This person I've portrayed.

Sweet silence, what is it?
Whispers fill my dark mind.
There's no free space for me.
In the corners I am confined.

My pathetic life is busting
At its delicate little seams.
The Ghosts of my life are:
The Masters of my Dreams.

Amazing poem. You described your troubles in life as ghosts who hunt you. I liked the concept. The rhymes and flow was great here as well, keep up the good work 5/5
