Envy

by Shinobi   Oct 20, 2007

We were friends
At least that was what you were for me
I am worth nothing for you
And That's the thing I'm sad to see

I see you with your friends
Smiling and joking around
While I watch I can't bare
To hear your precious laughing sound

Tried to treat you as a friend
Thought that friends are free
But every time I suggested meeting
You Turn your back at me

You keep calling me a friend
But I know that I could never be
I watch you with the others
And envy fills me

I tried being a good friend
Gave you my best
But in your eyes I can see
That I can never be like the rest

This is a poem about a friend of mine. I wrote it because of the way she treats me. All this time I thought that we had something special. She calls me a friend but treats me like someone she knows, and no better. That makes me envy. Some friend, hu?

The vocab is simple but I think you pulled it off effectively. The flow was great the meaning behind it was simply sad and you portrayed it in a depth which spilled your emotions out onto the page. I liked this one alot and found it to be heartfelt. ~Mel

I have had trouble with people lately and i know how you feel. for me though i think i'd be the friend for me it is a different story. She was the most annoying person i knew. i show her one bit of realism and she acts like a leach.

ok so that is not your story but it made me think of it
    good job
