This is not really a poem ... just me rambling on!
If only they understood,
if only they knew what is in my head.
If only I knew precisely what to say,
and how and when to say it.
If only I were "That Girl", you know,
the one who everyone adores.
If only I weren't so misunderstood,
so misinterpreted, undefined.
If only there were Peace in the world,
and we all loved one another.
If only we could walk out the door,
knowing today was going to be perfect.
If only we knew what to expect,
so when it comes;
we're prepared for it.
If only I didn't care,
didn't mind what others' thought.
If only I were someone else,
then maybe I would be happy.
If only I knew what to do,
and how to do it and when.
If only everything I did was acknowledged,
and they were grateful I was alive.
If only I had a meaning,
a purpose for pulsing blood.
If only everyone saw Me
and not what I can do for them.
If only the silence in the night,
were truly, sincerely, Silence.
If only I could have what I need,
but not what I want.
If only they UNDERSTOOD,
and knew I am not speaking
nonsense and that I am mature,
even more so, than them.
If only the lies we all told;
were harmless,
and meant nothing to our existence.
If only life weren't so full of choices,
and we had a sign to say "Do this, it will work!"
