My 'Lah

by AlyssaBrook   Oct 20, 2007

People take me for granted
They expect so little, and yet so much out of me
They tell me one thing, and then another
I am so confused

Those I once considered friends,
Betrayed me and joined with the crowd
They mocked and belittled me,
'Till I was nearly in tears

I retreated to the back of my head
To the deepest corner of my mind
There I held and comforted myself
And thought of only one thing

My dearest friend, who would understand
Someone I knew I could turn to
I knew right then who I needed;
My one and only 'Lah

I needed her more than anything
I wanted to be held in her arms
I wanted to talke and to tell her these things
But I knew she could not be found

In the presence of her;
Is the single place I know how to cry
I know that if I were to shed a tear
She would be right there to catch it

It would be she who clutches all of my feelings
And let's them at last be free
I can clear my head when I'm with her
Since I know she understands

If it weren't for her
I would disappear
And would drown in my own thoughts
For there's only one thing I can say to her;

I love you and need you each day
Please, don't ever go,
and don't ever change, for if you do;
I'll die

What's sad is, we are no longer friends. :DD

    This is a really nice poem, but the rhythm makes one expect a rhyme, which makes it more original, but less to my liking (yes, i know, im closed minded, but im not going to lie). if i were to vote, i'd give it a 4/5
