Watch the City Burn

by The Tears I bleed   Oct 20, 2007

Wars are raging
The world is falling
Around every corner,
Death is calling

Life is dying
Cities crumble
Gangs and fighters,
Get ready to rumble

Nothing is right
Hopelessness waits
And you can't hide
You won't escape

I can't stay and,
Watch the city burn
And I won't cry
But I'll try and I'll learn

I'll try and learn,
How to be strong
I'll walk on
No matter how long

I'll walk away
Because I just can't stay
Can't stay and,
Watch the city burn
Oh, watch it burn

Wars raging
Life is dying
Nothing is right
Is this really worth the fight?
I could try
But I can't stay and,
Watch the city burn

I've been once in a situation like this one. Only I didn't leave. I watched burning city. And it's like a curse. I'm having nightmares because of it. But I'm not sorry because I stayed. It's just another memory. Nice poem, though. :)
