Mr. Sandman: Master of Dreams

by xTheEcstasyOfSuicidex   Oct 21, 2007

The poem is what you see, but if you read the ( ) lines separately, they make a few sentences to go with the poem. You'll see what I mean. ^^
------------------------------------------------------------

You spoke of dreams you don't remember, and you didn't even remember your own,
When your hopes board the stars, you'll fly farther than you've ever flown.
Profoundly within your imagination, you are welcome to pretend;
Trust me, it seems unfair, but there's much more than you'll ever comprehend.
(You are welcome to hold on...)

With a sleepy blue hat and drowsy yellow shoes (so silly it seems),
He'll tempt you with his dreary little smile and dreary little schemes.
Holding them to the ceiling, as you climb thoughtlessly into bed,
Closing your eyes, you go on believing they're yours to hold within your head.
(as you climb into my arms.)

"I can taste your soul," he whispers, louder than he once expected,
"There are dreams in the air, with a cold winter burden, as I suspected."
You know not from where it comes, these trembles through your spine,
Where your hopes are now in the stars, through succession they'll realign.
(These trembles that we shudder...)

He'll tilt the world with is string of dreams, no farther gone then you are now,
"There's a taste of golden nightmares in the air," he whispers louder than allowed.
Testing closer to a heartbeat, you awake with curiosity and temptation,
It's like awakening from a coma, as your rub your eyes in deep concentration.
(are testing your heartbeat.)

(As you climb into my arms...)

A master of dreams, time stands still in silent remembrance every night;
We sleep with the mind that we're still alive, but the farther we slip into delight.
Tempting you with his dreary little smile and dreary little schemes,
Mr. Sandman sneak into your home and he'll visit your dreams.
(I will visit your dreams.)

    That's very cool and I really liked it from beginning to end. It had some cool twists to the piece itself. I thought your inward sentences were neat and original as well. You did a nice job!
